Torres del Paine National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site of some 2,422 square kilometres and is possibly one of the most well-known national parks in South America.
Located on the very far southern tip of Chile, some 100 kilometres north of Puerto Natales.
The parks name is taken from the three impressive towers of pink granite some 3000 metres high that rise out of a flat plain.
Alongside the 'Towers' are the Cuernos del Paine mountains which
are topped with jagged turrets of sedimentary shale.
