The flora in the park varies with altitude and area. There are areas of grasslands to coigue and lenga tree forests. The famous little bush called the Calafate is known because legend has it that if you eat one of its berries you are sure to return!
Fauna in Torres del Paine ranges from the many bird species including
the popular Nandu (Darwin's Rhea) to the rarely sighted Puma. The
Guanacos are also very common in the park and in the spring you
will see many calves with their parents. Condors are regularly sighted
soaring around the peaks. You are also very likely to see many other
animals including foxes and flamingos.
